Our retail farm market staff hold an important position at Shawnee Springs Market. They are the face of Shawnee Springs Market available to help customers pick out the freshest produce, beverage, wine or beer, and cooking ingredients. A mature, energetic, enthusiastic person to perform an array of vital functions that will include produce handling, merchandising, stocking, cleaning and most importantly, customer service.
Working Relationships
Works closely with farm market and country store team members. This position also works closely with each and every consumer entering the farm market.
Minimum Job Requirements
Team Responsibilities
- Greet each customer with a smile.
- Operate the registers in an efficient manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized and stocked checkout counter.
- Minimize shortages in your assigned cash drawer.
- Leave your drawer prepared for the next day.
- Maintaining and rotating sampling stations throughout the farm market.
- Never using personal cell phone while working.
- Must be able to work either day or evening shift and weekends.
- Must keep self busy throughout the work shift stocking shelves, refilling produce, cleaning etc
Produce Attendant Responsibilities
- Responsible for all produce displays at Shawnee Springs Market ensuring all produce is fresh and restocked at all times using first into cooler first out to customers
- Ability to lift 30 to 40lbs frequently
- Sorting, Stocking and cleaning produce displays in all locations as needed ensuring best quality produce and product is available for customers.
- Notify a forklift operator of produce needs BEFORE you run out.
- Maintain clean pig buckets.
- Wash and scrub or dispose of broken buckets.
- Sweep and occasionally wash the front porch to ensure a clean environment.
Inside Retail Responsibilities
- Following all opening duties to ensure farm market is ready for customers
- Responsible for all gift/merchandise displays at Shawnee Springs Market
- Maintain attractive and full merchandise displays.
- Able to lift 20 to 40 lbs occassionally
- Sweep, dust, and dispose of trash throughout your shift.
- Preparing displays for the day by turning on any illuminated signs, pictures, etc.…and subsequently turning them off at night.
- Closing at the correct closing time and not early ensuring all closing tasks are completed before ending of shift
- Restocking, re-facing, and ensuring proper rotation of all Shawnee Brand products.
- Completing end of shift duties sweeping, moping, cleaning of coolers, cooler doors and all other duties assigned
Additional Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Previous produce or retail experience preferred
