Responsibilities:
Cooking/Food Prep:
- Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook menu items in line with health and safety standards.
- Equipment Operation: Operate grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment.
- Set-up and Break-down: Help set up the truck and kitchen for service and close it down at the end of the day.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the food truck and cooking processes meet health department regulations and maintain cleanliness.
- Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dispose of trash, and wash dishes.
- Stocking: Keep the kitchen stocked with necessary ingredients.
Front of House:
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Ensure all customer-facing areas are clean and tidy (i.e., service window, condiment area, coolers, etc.).
- Customer Service: Greet customers, take orders, provide recommendations, and respond to customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
- Handle Transactions: Process payments through our POS system.
- Pack and Serve: Assemble and package orders accurately.
- Food Prep Assistance: Assist the cook with basic tasks like chopping, plating, etc., as needed.
- Set-up and Break-down: Help set up the truck for service and close it down at the end of the day.
- Restocking: Replenish customer-facing items like condiments, napkins, and utensils.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in food service or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A strong sense of teamwork and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
- Must be punctual, reliable, and able to follow instructions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
- A valid food handler’s permit (or willingness to obtain one) is required.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Work Conditions:
- Work in an outdoor environment, potentially exposed to varying weather conditions.
- Stand for long periods while preparing and serving food.
- Handle hot kitchen equipment and ingredients safely.
- Ability to work under pressure during busy events and maintain high service standards.
