Summary
The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for setting the mission and vision of She’s Somebody’s Daughter (SSD) and defining its strategic direction, ensuring that resources are in place to accomplish important mission goals, recruiting and retaining staff, keeping team members motivated and capable of exceeding expectations and building the kind of culture which supports SSD’s mission. Working with the Board, the Executive Director will set important goals for the organization and work systematically to meet them. This includes, but is not limited to, setting the strategy, vision and culture of the organization, leading senior team members, and allocating financial resources appropriately.
Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership - The ED works with the Board of Directors (BOD) and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach including the following:
- Provide overall leadership and vision in developing the strategic direction expansion and execution of the organization’s mission
- Oversee daily operations of the organization, providing executive direction for program strategies and efficiencies, compliance, and quality assurance
- Oversee and allocate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are functioning optimally, including the hiring and retention of qualified staff members and volunteers
- Serve as the face of the organization and participate in external events to increase visibility, credibility, and market brand, and develop strategic partnerships to further increase community awareness and expand programs
Financial Performance and Viability - The ED, in partnership with the BOD, is responsible for the fiscal integrity of the organization and ensures the financial health of the organization through the following:
- Responsible for fundraising and developing financial relationships necessary to support SSD’s mission
- Submit proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements to BOD, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization
- Leverage data-driven analytics, projections and financials to manage SSD’s budget and ensure that it is a financially viable, sustainable organization with the resources to meet current and projected growth
- Lead funding initiatives, including grants administration, strategic partnerships, and corporate sponsorships, donor relations and other relevant financial partnerships
Operational Leadership & Programming - The ED is responsible for building and leading an effective team of paid staff and volunteers, dedicated to fulfilling the organization’s mission through the following:
- Maintain a strong work culture that attracts and retains people while driving the organization’s mission
- Provide leadership and oversight of the recruitment, employment, and development of teams, both paid and volunteers
- Manage staff members
- Provide leadership and guidance overseeing the development and implementation of SSD’s initiatives - Awareness, Outreach, Building Community, and Fundraising
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, social services or related field
- Five or more years of experience in working with nonprofit organizations. Experience in senior management of a nonprofit organization preferred.
- Solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation
- Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
- Strategic and facilitation skills with a keen ability to effectively communicate the organization’s mission to donors, volunteers and the overall community
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
- Knowledge of leadership and management principles for nonprofit organizations
- Proven success working with a board of directors
- A committed Christian, growing in wisdom and Christ-like maturity, with church affiliation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
