Job Summary: The main responsibility of this position is to assist clients and the workers' compensation team with premium rate projections, program eligibility analysis and manual classification reviews.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Learning and understanding how the Workers' Compensation rating system works as well as the rules and laws that affect those rates
- Filing protest letters, attending hearings (via phone conference)
- Complete rate projections
- Complete manual classification/audit reviews
- Attend client visits upon request
- Answer client questions with regard to their Ohio workers compensation rating concerns
- Assist with all rating items for our clients
- Review clients and prospective clients to determine their eligibility for various rating programs
- Running and creating reports, reviewing system data feeds, miscellaneous additional tasks that may be required to meet needs and deadlines
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a High School education or equivalent experience.
Requirements:
- Solid knowledge of Ohio Workers' Compensation a plus
- Insurance and/or loan underwriting experience a plus
- Able to meet deadlines, work independently as well as in a team environment
- Mandatory overtime is required during certain times of the year to meet deadlines
Skills, Specialized Knowledge and Abilities:
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to type 40 WPM with accuracy
- Proficient with 10 key
- Data Entry skills, both accurate and efficient
- Excellent customer service and telephone skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel
- Organization, attention to detail, flexibility and strong ability to multi-task
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment without direct supervision and demonstrate considerable initiative
- Effectively work with others to build consensus and rapport
- Ability to lift, file, reach and carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
