Job Details:
- Job Title: Construction Safety Manager
- Location: Bowling Green, OH
- Duration: 8-10 Months (Start: 4/1/2025)
- Type: 1099 Contractor
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $50-$55/hr
- Per Diem: $125/day worked if over 50 miles from Bowling Green, OH
- Completion Bonus: $150/month for workers' compensation expenses
- Pay: Weekly
Schedule:
- Work Days: M-F, 1st shift. 40 hours
Project Scope:
You will oversee the safety of an electrical contractor building a substation. Responsibilities include:
- Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
- Site Walks
- Audits
- Safety enforcement
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5 years in construction safety management MUST have substation construction experience
- Required Certifications:
- 4-year degree in Occupational Health & Safety plus 5 years of experience, OR
- OSHA 500/510 certifications plus 7 years of safety experience with electrical utilities, OR
- BCSP Certification
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certifications
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct project safety inspections and employee orientations.
- Provide safety training as needed.
- Monitor worksite employees and enforce safety practices.
- Review and manage safety-related documentation and contractor correspondence.
- Perform additional EHS-related tasks as required.
Skills & Knowledge:
Skills:
- Excellent public speaking and communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- OSHA outreach training experience (a plus)
- Professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of EHS and industry regulatory standards in construction
- Effective communication of EHS principles
