Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $50 - $60/hr
- Per Diem: No Per Diem
- Pay: Weekly
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week | Monday - Friday | 8-hour shifts
Project Scope:
This project involves concrete foundation work for a heavy civil construction project. The Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, conducting site safety inspections, and managing risk mitigation efforts related to concrete work and heavy equipment operations.
Qualifications:
Required Experience:
- 7 years in construction safety, with at least 5 years specializing in concrete safety
- Experience overseeing heavy civil projects and foundation work
- Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 standards and concrete safety protocols
Certifications (Required & Preferred):
- Required: OSHA 510
- Preferred: OSHA 500, CHST, or other safety-related certifications
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Oversee concrete operations, mitigating hazards related to formwork, shoring, and equipment.
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee training sessions.
- Enforce job site safety protocols and conduct incident investigations as needed.
- Maintain and review safety documentation, contractor compliance, and reporting.
- Work closely with site supervisors to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of EHS regulations, concrete safety, and heavy civil construction.
- Excellent public speaking and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- OSHA outreach training experience is a plus.
