Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) - Ft. Bragg / Liberty, NC
Sheakley is recruiting a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) for our esteemed client, one of the nation's leading construction contracting firms. This position is for a 5-month construction project in Ft. Bragg / Liberty, NC, with an immediate start.
Compensation Package
- Local Rate : $53 / HR
- Project Completion Bonus : $150 / Month
- Pay Schedule : Weekly
- Staffing Type : 1099
Project Details
Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts (40 hours / week)Start Date : Immediate NeedDuration : 5 MonthsScope of Work :Oversight of a two-story new build
Panels and walls are already in placeFocus on finishing touches in the next few monthsApproximately 30 workers on-siteSSHO required per contract specificationsContractor Certification Requirements
EM 385 1-1OSHA 30Minimum 5 years of construction safety experiencePrincipal Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct project safety inspections and orientationsProvide safety training as neededObserve and monitor worksite employees and enforce safety practicesReview and manage safety-related documentation and contractor correspondencePerform additional EHS-related tasks within the manager's skills and certificationsQualifications & Experience
3-5 years of construction safety and health experienceStrong understanding of EHS regulations and industry standardsExcellent public speaking abilities with the ability to communicate safety standards effectivelyEnergetic, ambitious, assertive, and an excellent communicatorOSHA outreach training experience is preferredAbility to work independently and meet deadlines without direct supervisionExperience in OSHA and regulatory safety trainingRequired Skills & Abilities
Ability to handle sensitive information with high confidentialitySelf-motivated, proactive, and outgoing personalityStrong customer service, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to analyze and improve safety practices, policies, and training programsTechnical proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work in construction, warehouse, and manufacturing environmentsFlexibility to respond to emergency or after-hours safety concerns when requiredWork Environment
