With over 60 years of industry leadership, we are seeking a Construction SSHO (Site Safety Health Officer) and Superintendent for a 1-year project in Cherry Point, NC. This is a high-impact opportunity to work on a municipal building demo and rebuild project.

Project Duration: 1 year | Start Date: 2/3/25
Job Type: 1099 Contractor
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $54 - $58/hour
- Per Diem: $125 daily
- Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8-hour shifts | 40 hours per week
Scope of Work: Demolition and reconstruction of a municipal building on base
- Civil work | Excavation | Fall protection systems |Overhead work
Qualifications (Required):
- At least 10 years of construction experience
- Minimum of 3 years of superintendent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of SSHO (Site Safety Health Officer) experience
- EM 385 Certification
- Relevant experience in excavation, civil, electrical, fall protection, and overhead work
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety inspections and employee orientations to ensure compliance with project safety standards
- Provide on-site safety training as necessary
- Enforce safety protocols and monitor employee adherence to safety regulations
- Manage safety documentation and contractor correspondence
- Perform other EHS-related tasks within the scope of the role
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and public speaking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- OSHA outreach training experience is a plus
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality
Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and regulatory standards in construction. Ability to communicate and enforce safety guidelines effectively.
