Truck Sales Representative Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is to serve as the company’s chief liaison with customers in your assigned area, to maintain good relations with our customers and to ensure that we are doing everything possible to meet and to exceed their expectations of the equipment they purchase or the parts and service that we provide.
- Prefer experience in territorial equipment sales, but not mandatory. Car/truck sales, business to business sales, other territorial sales would be potential candidates.
- Keep up to date on product changes and improvements. Keep customers and prospects informed of changes and improvements which will be beneficial to them.
- Maintain complete and accurate records on customers and prospects. Complete call reports. Develop and maintain profile information on customers and prospects
- Ensure that equipment proposals are professionally prepared, and that the equipment will meet the needs and expectations of the customer.
- Ensure all paperwork and information required for the sale is complete and accurate
- Consult with management concerning ordering of stock trucks based on anticipated sales. Provided recommendations.
- Whenever a trade is involved, obtain expected market value using used truck valuation guides and other reliable sources.
- Complete used truck inspection form. Recommend method for handling trade. All trades must be approved the General Manager.
- Maintain assigned manuals with updated information.
- Safeguard all confidential information such as customer lists, pricing and proposals.
- Prepare sales forecast for the next twelve months. Update at least quarterly.
- When pricing units for sale, including local options, ensure a reasonable profit with company guidelines.
- Verify specifications of customer factory orders to ensure that specifications are correct and accurate.
- Coordinate delivery of sold units. Ensure that delivery is a pleasant experience for the customer. Be sure the customer understands operating characteristics of the unit. Schedule training if needed. Explain warranty.
Truck Sales Representative Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- College Degree or at least 5 years of related experience
- Has a great personality
- Can work in a fast-paced environment
- Good organization skills
- Detail oriented and flexible
- Dependable, ethical, honest, accountable, trustworthy, must be a team player, and have a positive attitude
