Description
The Logistics Intern at Sutherland Global Logistics works directly with Account Logistics Coordinator(s) and various shipping entities to ensure shipments are properly tracked, provides support to the Network and Operations department and assists the Billing department with charge entry and finalizing Master Waybills (MAWBs).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Functions as back-up support to the Network and Operations team members to facilitate in eff ective and effi cient workfl ow.
Supports SEKO’s goals for imaging Proof of Delivery (POD) documents provided by agents to ensure protection against billing and claims liability by processing data through theimaging and operating systems.
Drives the ground level processing of missing images in Capsys.
Enters instructions into system and ensures paperwork is received by the proper individual(s) in order to track progress of shipment.
Uploads documents into Transportation Management Systems – Domestic/International or Customer-Facing.
Finalizes customer MAWBs.
Collects, reviews and enters agent charges; enters missing PODs.
Performs other tasks/projects as requested by management.

Qualifications
- Ability to acquire TSA certification (required).
- Proficient with spreadsheets and data entry.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail; thorough with follow-up and follow-through.
- Strong organizational skills with high level of accuracy/attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize appropriately.
- Ability to manage time effectively to ensure timely responses and completion of tasks/projects.
Education and /or Experience:
High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience; Associate’s degree in business or logistics-related field is a plus.
Language skills
Strong command of the English language, both orally and in writing.Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively.
Computer skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Ability to quickly learn new programs/software.
Physical demands
Sitting eight (8) hours or more per day; standing and/or walking two (2) hours or more per day.
Eight (8) or more hours per day doing computer work.
Ability to bend, reach and stoop.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Noise level can be moderate due to multiple conversations in close proximity.
