Position Summary
SCIO is looking for a reliable, passionate individual to manage the Summer and Winter Markets in Sheboygan. They will coordinate with community members to build strong partnerships including but not limited to promoting farmers, increasing access to fresh and healthy food, building community experiences at the market and ensuring low income individuals can utilize the market. The position will be responsible for ensuring the farmers market is using best practices, promoting and marketing SCIO and the farmers market, assisting with grants and sponsorships and coordinating all partnerships and vendors at the market. This position will also supervise interns or part time staff. This position requires timeliness with communication and processes, strong customer service skills, a team-oriented attitude, and the ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment. This is a physical job.

Essential Functions
- Maintains timely communication and coordination of the SCIO farmers markets
- Active participant in community healthy food initiatives, liaison to other community organizations, non-profits and businesses in promoting market activities
- Serves on SCIO leadership team
- Cultivates relationships with community partners to assist with securing funding and ensure accessibility for low income families
- Assists with marketing materials, social media posts, and reports
- Recruits, inspires and supervises volunteers and interns
Hours
Approximately 15-30 hours per week, depending on season. Must be available during market hours:June-October: Wednesdays and Saturdays 7am-2pm November - April: 1st and 3 Saturdays 7:30am-1:30pm Administrative hours are flexible throughout the year to ensure attendance at various community and SCIO meetings. Hours are dependent on tasks, timelines, and deadlines.
Additional Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance with adequate liability coverage and ability to drive the SCIO vehicle for business purposes
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Google documents, social media
- A strong sense of and respect for confidentiality and handling sensitive information
- Ability to work with culturally-diverse families and communities with the ability to be culturally sensitive
- Transport all needed items to set up the farmers market info both at each market.
- Ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, turn, reach, lift, carry, pull, climb, and kneel, with frequent walking and standing.
