- Assisting the Head Mechanic in performing routine minor motor vehicle repairs such as tire rotation and changing, oil changes, greasing, brake pad and drum replacement and fluid checks.
- Assisting the Head Mechanic with the inventory and disposal of auto supplies within the department. These duties include maintaining the cleanliness of the department garage, motor vehicle inventory room and the mechanic’s bay.
- Qualified candidates will be expected to be familiar with safety rules and procedures associated with the motor vehicle fleet and abide by safe work practices.
- Any other duty assigned by the Sheriff or his/her designee.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Adequate knowledge of general motor vehicle repair and maintenance.
Self-motivated with the ability to effectively, efficiently and entirely complete assignments with minimal supervision.
Ability to be supervised.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to function in stressful situations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and good working relationships with co-workers and other staff.
Ability to maintain regular and predictable work attendance.
Salary : $15 - $19
