Under supervision, assists professional staff in performing routine clerical and related tasks as assigned.
- Offers information on, assists with applications, and refers individuals to community agencies and services for assistance.
- Documents activities and provides routine clerical support to professional staff including filing, completion of reports, and other documentation; files documents; assists in data entry on departmental automation and documentation systems; assists in monitoring and maintaining inventories.
- Participates in and contributes to team meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school graduation is required. Prior work or volunteer experience in a human services organization is preferred.
- Bilingual language skills are preferred.
- Ability to make decisions and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to establish rapport with persons from a variety of socio-economic, cultural and racial backgrounds.

- Ability to frequently lift up to 40 pounds and a combination of sitting and standing postures may be required. Ability to regularly work 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week is required. Hours will typically occur during standard business days but may vary in response to consumer needs and special events.
- Must be able to effectively operate standard office equipment including telephone, computer, facsimile, calculator, printer, and photocopier.
- Must be computer literate and able to use programs such as, but not limited to, G Suite programs, Microsoft programs, various video conferencing platforms, and internet navigation. On site training will be provided for work specific computer applications. Risk of blood borne pathogen exposure is considered low.
Working Relationships
- Reports to Human Services Manager. Works with Public Health Professionals (Nutritionists, Sanitarians, Public Health Educator, Public Health Nurses), Human Services Assistants (Public Health Aide, Public Health Technician, WIC Assistant). Frequent contact with co-workers, consumers, members of the public, and representatives of other agencies.
