What are the responsibilities and job description for the Die Cutter Operator Lead 2nd shift (M-F 2pm-10pm) (B1-L) position at Sheboygan Paper Box Company?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be needed based on the production
needs of the day and limited to the rank and ability to perform these duties.
1. To be a Die Cutter Pressman Lead, full knowledge of all die cutting procedures must be known and understood.
2. Communication with other departments in the layout and production of incoming jobs is essential.
3. When receiving a job to be die cut, instructions to be followed are detailed on the Factory Ticket submitted to
the die cutting dept.
4. Inspection of proper sheet alignment is made by the pressman.
5. The die for this particular job is placed into the die cutting press and sheets are run through the machine to
insure that creases and cut marks are in the proper place for the manufacture of the finished product.
6. If any discrepancies arise in the manufacture of the die, the pressman will get in contact with the supervisor.
7. When the job is in production, a sheet from each load must be inspected by the pressman to insure all creases
and cuts are still in proper perspective for the finished product.
8. Other functions include the communication between the print dept. and the die cutting dept.
9. When the print department is ready to produce a printed job, final approval must be given by the die cutting
dept. to insure the layout of the print will conform to the die that has been produced by the die making dept.
10. At the end of the production job on the die cutter, the lead pressman must have all the proper paperwork
completed before going on to the next job.
11. Helps to mentor the operation of the person running the feeder end of the die cutter and designates the
different duties assigned to the feeder.
12. The pressman must have good communication with the employees in pre‐make‐ready so if any problems do
arise, the situation can be resolved before the die is locked in position on the press.
13. A working relationship between supervision, pressmen, and pre‐make‐ready is a necessity to maintain a smooth
work flow.
14. Must be able to operate Power Industrial Vehicles (PIV).
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to set up and run Bobst Die Cutters
Folding carton Experience Preferred
Must have Strong Mechanical Aptitude
Must have great people skills and ability to work in a team environment
Must have good judgement along with strong self-motivation
Must have the ability to work with a sense of urgency and in a face paced manufacturing environment
Die Room and Pre-make ready experience preferred but not required
Salary : $1 - $27
