As we continue to expand our tourism efforts, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Tourism Manager for the 2025 visitor season to help us lead and grow our tourism initiatives.

The Tourism Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of tourism services and ensuring the smooth, efficient, and enjoyable experience for all visitors. This position involves managing logistics, supervising staff, developing and implementing strategies to optimize guest satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for tourism, and a deep understanding of the hospitality and travel sectors.

Key Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Operations Management:
    • Oversee the daily operations of tourism services, including transportation, accommodations, excursions, and guest services.
    • Ensure the smooth and efficient coordination of travel itineraries and logistics.
    • Monitor and maintain the quality of all tourism-related services and products.
    • Address and resolve any operational issues or challenges that arise.
  • Team Leadership and Staff Management:
    • Lead, train, and manage a team of customer service representatives, front line workers and other operations staff.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to ensure high employee morale and productivity.
    • Schedule shifts and allocate resources effectively to meet operational demands.
    • Provide ongoing performance feedback and conduct evaluations.
  • Guest Experience and Satisfaction:
    • Ensure exceptional guest experiences by providing outstanding customer service.
    • Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally.
    • Monitor and improve customer satisfaction levels, implementing corrective actions as necessary
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure all operations comply with local regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
    • Regularly review and update operational procedures to meet evolving legal and safety requirements.
    • Ensure that all staff are trained on safety protocols and customer care guidelines.
  • Marketing and Promotion:
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote tourism services and increase bookings.
    • Provide input on special promotions, packages, and new product offerings.
    • Assist in maintaining the company’s online presence and customer engagement platforms
  • Partnerships and Vendor Relations:
    • Manage relationships with local suppliers, employees, independent contractors, and other stakeholders.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality service.
    • Coordinate with partners to enhance product offerings and experiences for guests.
Requirements:
  • Candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship.
  • Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience, or an additional 4 years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Candidate must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in tourism operations or related industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of the tourism industry, travel logistics, and customer service standards.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, financial management, and cost control in an operational setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and tourism management software.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with Shee Atiká’s unique working culture and environment.
  • Experience with event planning and community-based tourism.
  • Familiarity with eco-tourism and indigenous tourism practices.
  • Experience in managing large-scale tourism operations or events.

Work Environment:

  • Full-time 2025 seasonal position with occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work depending on operational needs.
  • Office-based with regular visits to tourism sites and operational areas.
