Automotive Dealership Shop Foreman/ Production Manager

Job Summary

Sheehan Buick GMC is looking for a Shop Foreman/Production Manager!

- Hire, Train, Coach, and Inspire the Technicians.

- Keep shop atmosphere positive and show enthusiasm in everything we do all day to create positive energy flowing in the shop which will increase productivity and create a positive and energetic working environment, creating a powerful team.

- Reports to Service Director/Service Manager.

- Ensure shops are kept "hospital clean" at all times, including but not limited to, all tech work benches, and all equipment.

- Work from the repair shop (the shop is your office) to provide supervisory and support role on daily operation of the repair shop and provide

hands on assistance to the technicians whenever necessary.

- Assist/Mentor Line Technicians on proper vehicle diagnostic procedures to accurately diagnose vehicle issues so the Advisors can make

necessary vehicle repair recommendations.

- Onboard and train newly hired technicians in the proper shop processes, company policies, and etiquette.

- Moniter technician productivity and shop hours to train up the techs that need help and keep top producers on a positive path.

- Promote growth of the business daily in doing the small things correct which will lead to overall growth monthly and yearly. Do the little

things right and the big things will take care of themselves.

- Assign technicians to repairs based on skill level and abilities. Time permitting, assign a technician a vehicle above their skill level to promote

learning and growth while overseeing repair process to train up the tech and ensure quality of repairs

- Test drive vehicles with the customer when necessary to verify vehicle problem and assist technician in diagnosing the issue and

recommended repairs.

- Test Drive vehicles before and after performing repairs as needed to verify the customers concern and afterwards to ensure repairs complete

and customers issues are resolved.

- Verify labor times when necessary and assist advisors when necessary to quote proper repair prices for the customer.

- Assist Service Director and Warranty Administrator to ensure warranty expense as per General Motors Warranty Expense Guideline is at or below Peer

Group.

- Ensure all warranty policy and procedures are strictly followed.

- Foreman/Production Manager role Includes but not limited to all of the above core responsibilities. Situations will arise that will require

completing job related tasks across all job roles in the dealership regardless of title.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
