Position Summary:
Are you detail oriented and love data entry? If so, you may be the perfect fit as one of Sheer Logistics Accounts Payable Specialists. In this role you will be an integral part of the Finance team working with other internal teams to ensure freight billing runs smoothly. Primarily, you will enter freight bills into the HubTran portal as well as review carrier compliance with customer requirements, managing accessorial charges, and work with the Ops team when the invoice rate varies from the Transportation Management System (TMS) rate.
Essential Functions:
- Process freight bills.
- Ensure carrier compliance with customer requirements.
- Manage accessorial charges.
- Work closely with the Ops team to resolve rate variances and customer requests.
- Scan and file required documents electronically.
- Develop knowledge of the various transportation modes and the logistics industry.
- Respond to carrier questions via phone and/or email.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 2 years strong data entry experience is required.
- Previous freight pay experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure team maintains excellent level of customer service.
- Teamwork to collaborate closely with cross-departmental teams.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products and scanning/filing electronically.
- Must be detail oriented and can organize/prioritize workloads.
- Must be observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation: $21.75 -$25.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid (One of Sheer’s offices: St. Louis, Dallas, Chicago or Atlanta office); Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in office.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
Sedentary inside office work with limited exposure to weather conditions.
