- Understanding the company's values, products, and services.
- Take pride in researching and continually pursuing new carrier acquisition through cold-calling and lead generation.
- Applying a strategic sales approach to foster positive relationships with trucking company key contacts. Resolving problems and expanding industry knowledge.
- Be the primary point of accountability for carriers strategically matching, negotiating, and booking available equipment with available freight for transactional and dedicated lane opportunities.
- Leveraging technology platforms to make informed decisions, negotiate prices, and drive automation.
- Work closely with operations, prioritizing customer service and providing the best carrier for the company's safety and integrity. Ensure shipment details are accurately communicated at the point of sale.
- Understanding transportation-related market conditions and how they correlate and impact buying decisions.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- College graduate
- 2 plus of experience building carrier relationships and/or booking loads
- A history of building and maintaining client relationships
- Experience in executing across multiple modes of transportation (LTL, Volume, Truckload, Partial, Intermodal, and Expedited).
Knowledge, SKILLS, and Abilities
- Strong work ethic and persistence combined with patience and a positive attitude
- Ability to understand instructions and guidelines to perform required tasks.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Transportation Management Software.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in both written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service background and ability to quickly build rapport with carriers.
- Demonstrates timely and efficient follow-through.
