POSITION TITLE: Receptionist/Bookkeeper/Secretary II
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Two years’ experience in bookkeeping preferred.
- MUST have experience with computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, and accounting software)
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent, Chief School Financial Officer, and Executive Director of Special Education & Student Support
JOB GOAL: To provide administrative support for Central Office staff, greet visitors, and perform accounts payable duties
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Public Relations – greets visitors, answers routine questions, and directs visitors to appropriate staff, deals with concerns of parents, and performs activities requested by the visitor.
- Serves as confidential secretary to the Assistant Superintendent and Executive Director or Special Education & Student Support.
- Creates requisitions, keeps copies of purchase orders and performs duties specific to federal program bookkeeping.
- Maintains records of vendor transactions.
- Performs clerical, secretarial and administrative support for the Central Office staff.
- Maintains student files, inventories, and other records.
- Orders textbooks, materials, and supplies as needed. Works with textbook committee.
- Keeps a tracking log for special education and gifted.
- Requests vision, hearing, and other testing for students upon notification and score test.
- Types contracts and collect certification as necessary.
- Assists applicants with applying for substitute teacher license and obtaining the fingerprinting/background clearance with the Alabama State Department of Education.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 month contract. Salary will be determined based on approved salary schedule.
EVALUATION: Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with the Board policy on evaluation of non-certified personnel.
