What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Rep/Weather Tight Warranty Inspector position at Sheffield Metals International?
Act as product application expert for standing seam roofing/ sheet metal projects. Provide clear direction and hands on application consultation to internal and external customers. Inspects weathertight warranty projects for accuracy of installation and completeness.
Job Duties
- Clearly communicate standards for roofing/ sheet metal workmanship as an industry standard, or a basis for warranty coverage along with contractor evaluation
- Physically climbing onto roof structures to inspect installation for weathertight warranties
- Organize and maintain multiple weathertight warranty projects at the same time while also scheduling said project inspections in a timely manner
- Ability to schedule time and travel for the aforementioned (3) with budget considerations
- Provide support on technical and product application issues to customers when applicable
- Maintain written inspection reports from weathertight warranty projects
- Support Technical Department when creating or updating literature, technical bulletins, procedures etc.
- Act as internal resource for sales, marketing, and architectural departments related to roofing projects
- Other duties as assigned
Education
A high school diploma or GED is required
Experience & Skills
- Background in standing seam metal roofing installation is preferred
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, preferably on roll-forming / sheet metal equipment
- Motivated self-starter with excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- Ability to effectively support multiple priorities and create effective travel schedule.
- Flexible, including the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities; capable of operating in a dynamic environment
- Must be committed to the success of the team
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Strong time management skills
- Overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
