Security Guard - 2nd and 3rd shift

Sheffield Pharmaceuticals is currently seeking full time security officers for 2nd and 3rd shift for our manufacturing facility in New London, CT. The responsibility of our security officers will be to protect our employees, our product, and our property. Officers will be patrolling the facility and grounds by foot, and responding to incidents in which higher levels of physical ability may be required.

Key responsibilities:

• Walk the facility and the grounds to ensure the facility is safe and secure
• Create a visible presence to deter threatening or illegal activity
• Respond quickly security alarms, incidents, or emergency situations and assess for appropriate action
• Monitor entrances and access points to ensure they are secure and free from potential intruders
• Address incidences in the moment, and prepare appropriate reports
• Document and immediately report incidences to leadership
• Work with leadership in investigations and to determine proper action if incidences occur

Qualifications:

• Integrity and a strong moral character
• High school diploma or GED
• Prior security experience
• A strong sense of pride in work, work ethic and the ability to work well alone
• Experience using a video monitoring system
• Basic computer skills including word and outlook
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively and identify level of action or urgency required
• Must possess a valid CT State pistol permit and active Guard Card, and security certification such as Physical Security Certification or CPP
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, and work in all weather conditions
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen
