Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Manager/Director of Industry Research and Communications to join our dynamic Government Relations team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience, preferably at a think tank, communications shop or university, and might hold a master’s degree. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent writing, communication and presentation skills who can produce detailed white papers, interpret and synthesize complex information, and develop compelling narratives in as little as one-page to effectively communicate our company’s vision and initiatives to make fashion accessible to all.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth industry research and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Write detailed white papers, catchy one-pages and inspiring presentations on various industry topics, trends, and company initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Chairman to interpret and articulate his vision into clear, concise written narrative
- Develop and manage crisis op-eds for internal and external use to promote SHEIN and clarify our complex business model.
- Create compelling content that helps elected officials, stakeholders, and third parties understand our company’s mission, values, and operations.
- Monitor industry trends and media to provide insights that inform company strategy and communications.
- Ensure all communications are aligned with SHEIN’s brand voice and strategic objectives.
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field is a plus.
- 3-7 years of experience in industry research and communications.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality white papers, dynamic one-pagers and savvy op-eds.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with senior executives and policy makers alike.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in crisis communications and government relations.
- Knowledge of e-commerce is preferred but not required.
- Excited to tell the story of on-demand fashion.
