*** This is a seasonal position from June 8- August 2, 2025 with all evenings and Saturdays off throughout the employment period, and a long weekend off during July 4th. Housing is provided throughout the summer, and all meals are provided Monday-Friday. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older. ***
ABOUT US: Shekinah Ranch is a non-profit summer camp program that has been in operation since 2002. We offer three summer camp programs: Day Camp (grouped ages 5-7 and 8-10 ), Overnight Camp (ages 8-16), and Teen Discipleship (ages 13-17). Our mission is to be a place for young people and children to experience being connected to God, through the use of horses, sports, and recreation. The camp has grown and developed many activities over the years that draw out every camper's creativity, diverse interests, and adventurous spirit.
ABOUT THE POSITION: Shekinah Ranch is hiring a Day Camp Director for our Cowpokes Camp (ages 8-10). A Day Camp Director must be a creative & think-on-your-feet individual, with a passion for children's ministry. This individual would oversee the entire Day Camp program for their group; either Buckaroos OR Cowpokes. This position is responsible for leading day camp 7:45am-5:15 pm Monday- Friday, creating a weekly schedule, keeping an up-to-date roster of campers, daily activity preparation, tracking/ ordering Day Camp Supplies, and working with a Day Camp Assistant. The hours for this position include the open day camp hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) and after-hours preparation to create the schedule, update/create rosters, and plan activities.
All staff must provide Child Abuse Safety, Criminal Background and FBI Fingerprint clearances BEFORE June 1, 2025.

- Requires commitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally.

- Requires understanding and ability to use simple arithmetic and grammar with accuracy. Equivalent to knowledge normally acquired through four years of high school (or G.E.D.).
- Requires successful completion of summer staff training and certification provided by Shekinah Ranch.
- Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English.

- Requires ability to hear and receive verbal instructions, communicate with people in situations with some background noise.

- Provide direct leadership, supervision and direction during camp activities for campers.
- Ensure that all summer camp activity participants are aware of and abide by all safety program guidelines and policies.
- Encourage and motivate day campers to participate in activities.
- Immediately report any accidents or safety concerns to a supervisor. Consult with supervisor as necessary on needs, issues, and incidents.
- Respond to emergency situations in a calm, professional, and appropriate manner within the guidelines and policies of the camp. Report emergency situations immediately to a supervisor.
- Act as a positive role model at all times.
- Maintain compliance with all Shekinah policies, procedures and requirements.
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
- Work successfully as part of a team and responsible for developing then maintaining strong working relationships with co-workers.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and training as required.
- Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required.
