Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical BIM Administrator to join our team our team with the job location to be on-site at WMATA premises in Alexandria, VA or New Carrolton, MD. As a BIM Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes, ensuring efficient project delivery and maintaining high-quality standards across all our construction and architectural projects.
- Lead the development of the Authority’s cloud-based Design Management Software System(DMSS) (i.e., Autodesk for Construction Cloud (ACC) for the Authority’s capital projects);
- Develop policies and procedures to maintain and support the ACC design environment;
- As a subject matter expert, BIM Administrator will act as a resource to the project team through all phases of design development and provide technical support to the project team daily;
- Manage the implementation of BIM guidelines and standards for all current and future WMATA projects;
- Ensure that the BIM process for creating and managing information related to templates and design documents is fully developed, implemented, and maintained;
- Provide supervision to the BIM/CAD technician team to administer compliance with WMATA requirements;
- Prepare design intent drawings using Revit software as the Base Layer and integrate with other software for comprehensive renderings/animation;
- Support project coordination, model mediation, and sequencing through Revit and other 3D applications;
- Primary point of contact to manage and administer WMATA’s ACC environment;
- Manage the BIM/CAD coordination process for current and future projects throughout the Authority;
- Administer and provide technical guidance for digital design document acceptance, files, and retrieval, including attributes for internal and external stakeholders;
- Control quality including completeness and adherence to the Authority’s standards;
- Manage software integration and updates to ensure standardized use of the software platform and to enhance longevity and usefulness to stakeholders;
- Communicate the benefits of ACC to internal and external audiences, in a variety of settings, such as at stakeholder meetings, through reports to senior leadership, and through email and conversation; and
- Conduct internal training and recommend outside training for using Revit at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels for WMATA staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management; in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree in architecture, engineering, or related four (4) years of progressive work experience in a related field (i.e., architecture, engineering, or construction management), in addition to experience listed below, will be considered;
- Seven (7) years of experience in CAD/BIM management for facilities, alignments, or utilities on construction and rehabilitation projects, to include three (3) years of direct supervision of staff;
- Experience in developing and utilizing BIM information to support project development and design;
- Knowledge of BIM standards and requirements; and
- Knowledge of, and experience with an ACC network architecture.
- Knowledge of, and experience with WMATA’s BIM Guide Preferred
Additional Information
Proposed Salary: $110 - 165k annual
Sheladia Associates, Inc. has made the best effort to accurately represent the pay range for this position, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and any applicable cost of living data relevant to the position/candidate.
