Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and goal-oriented Business Development Manager to join our team in Rockville, United States. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving our company's growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding our market presence.
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential clients, competitors, and industry trends within the engineering sector
- Analyze data to assess market demands and uncover opportunities for business expansion
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, ensuring their needs are met
- Collaborate and lead a Business Development team of 2-3 members
- Prepare and submit compelling proposals, bids, and tender documents that highlight our technical expertise and solutions
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure proposals align with client needs and industry standards
- Organize and lead meetings, presentations, and business development activities focused on our projects
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote our services and identify new opportunities
- Contribute to the development and execution of strategic business plans aimed at long-term growth and innovation
- Monitor and report on business development activities, providing insights and recommendations for improvement
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within the engineering industry
- Proven track record of successfully identifying and closing new business opportunities in the engineering sector
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and industry trends
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; familiarity with engineering software is a plus
- Strategic thinking and planning abilities, with a focus on long-term business growth and innovation in engineering solutions
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines
Additional Information
Proposed Salary: $90 - 100k annual
Sheladia Associates, Inc. has made the best effort to accurately represent the pay range for this position, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and any applicable cost of living data relevant to the position/candidate.
Other compensation: opportunities for annual increase and bonus, and other types of bonuses
