AG Supermarkets, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Associated Grocers of New England, Inc., operates supermarkets in New Hampshire and Vermont. Customers shopping these stores find the most personalized, friendly service with the highest quality food products. We are currently looking for a Customer Service Manager in our Shelburne Market store in Shelburne, VT, who is interested in not only managing but leading by example in way of outstanding Customer Service. As well as being a part of a team and making our store one that customers want to shop at.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide at all times Outstanding Customer Service
- Understand, follow, manage, and enforce all company issued and department issued SOPs.
- Become an “expert” in CS activities and troubleshooting CS software, hardware, cashier questions, etc.
- Create weekly staffing schedules using hourly reports to support staffing decisions and incorporate time-off requests from your department staff
- Delegate staff breaks and lunches while juggling customer service needs and flow of retail traffic
- Delegate tasks so cashiers are using quiet work time appropriately (ex. Collecting carts, cleaning CS work areas, filling bags, stocking candy racks, filling coffee station, staff skill evaluations, etc.)
- Enforce edicts of the employee handbook (such as making sure that employee personal items are properly locked away in a locker and not at their work stations or in the cashier counting closet and making sure employees are not using their cell phones on company time)
- Handle all day-to-day Customer Service “CS” issues
- Hire and discipline the CS staff as needed with management approval and assistance when appropriate
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional customer service office and service area at all times
- Perform daily cash ups, complete reports, report data to Accounting, answer related questions and sometimes investigate reconciliation variances
- Provide Accounting with daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic log reporting as detailed from Accounting
- Responsible for assisting in the management of cash in the store, including daily petty cash, making change orders, register reconciliations, deposits, etc.
- Run register as needed
- Track equipment/software, & CS issues
- Track newspaper credits
- Perform annual reviews on all employees within your department
- Train CS staff, as well as, other company staff on any CS tasks as needed
- Support and comply with all company safety/security standards

- Strong customer service skills & effective communication.
- Must have flexible schedule availability.
- Computer knowledge.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers, employees, and management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is performed in a typical retail work environment
- Ability to lift weights up to 40 lbs. frequently
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, kneel, bend, reach as needed to perform duties
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $23.00 per hour
