What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deli Manager position at Shelburne Market?
AG Supermarkets, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Associated Grocers of New England, Inc., operates supermarkets in New Hampshire and Vermont. Customers shopping these stores find the most personalized, friendly service with the highest quality food products. We are currently looking for a Deli Manager in our Shelburne Market store, who is interested in not only managing/learning our Deli department but bakery, prepared foods and specialty cheese.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide at all times Outstanding Customer Service
- Culinary skills
- Develop product knowledge in all areas
- Create weekly schedule(s)
- Perform and manager all ordering for the deli department (deli, bakery, prepared food, olive bar, salad/hot wing bar, & specialty cheese)
- Strictly adhere to all safety, health, weight and measure regulations
- Maintain proper labeling of all deli department items, including proper listing of ingredients and Company code/date policies
- Responsible for ensuring Deli Scales and M&M Labeling Machines when used are current
- Observe temperatures of coolers, cases, freezer, and report failures to management promptly
- Work closely with vendors to ensure you are receiving and offering the best pricing, new items, best quality, and appropriate items that your customers will love and appreciate
- Calculate margins and make sure pricing is correct and clear on the shelves and that the Receiver has all of your current-to-date pricing information, so items are retailed at the register correctly
- Perform and manage a monthly inventory count of all products housed under the deli department designation
- Support and comply with all company safety/security standards
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to prioritize work tasks, multi-task and maintain focus.
- Strong customer service skills & effective communication.
- Must have flexible schedule availability.
- Computer knowledge.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers, employees, and management.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is performed in a typical retail work environment
- Ability to lift weights up to 40 lbs. frequently
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, kneel, bend, reach as needed to perform duties
- Ability to work in different temperature control climate
- Use of machinery to include slicer, oven, knives, deep fryer, and wrapper

Pay: Up to $26.00 per hour
