SPFC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Healthcare Operations Officer to join our team. As the Chief Healthcare Operations Officer (CHOO), you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our healthcare and clinical programs, as well as the expansion of our services as a multi-site provider. The CHOO also plays a lead role in setting organizational strategy, determining and managing annual and special project(s) budgets and assuring policy and other regulatory compliance across the agency. This role will focus on health center-wide operational logistics, including clinic moves, expansions, the development of management tools and metrics, and fostering seamless communication between departments.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises the Director of Health Outcomes and Lead APRN, and provides support to the leadership of their team members
- Hires and trains direct staff, as well as ensures their positive performance against required responsibilities and established goals
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
Position Responsibilities
Lead operations of health center departments, including prescription health program, front desk / administrative operations, health center operations, healthy living coach program, and the dental center, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, policies, and standards of careEnsure all regulatory requirements related to Health Center operations are understood and met, and processes to ensure compliance are updated as neededMaintain responsibility for direct and / or indirect patient care, leading and fostering collaboration among health center staff andvolunteers to optimize patient experience and outcomesOptimize Health Center business and technology processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of patient care (e.g., optimization of EMR, front desk workflows, patient care workflows, and integration of dental and health center patients)Work with the People department to identify volunteer provider needs, orient new providers to the team, and ensure ongoing communication needs are metLead Health Center programmatic expansions and progress toward annual and strategic goals in collaboration with external partners and departments across SPFC, including Finance, Development, and the People Department.Foster continuous collaboration between the Health Center and other organizational departments, including the People Department (volunteers and human resources), Development, Finance, other programs, and executive leadership to achieve annual and strategic Health Center goalsCreate, implement, and lead the adoption of timebound project plans to advance optimization of business and technology processes, support the effective integration of volunteers, foster expansion, facilitate collaboration, and achieve goalsHold team members accountable to deliverables and outcomes related to implementationManage Health Center expenditures and support annual budgeting process for the Health Center, providing input on Health Center needs, costs associated with those needs, and impact of investmentsEnsure Health Center data-gathering and reporting goals are met and support the evolution of Health Center data optimization, including informing what we capture, why, and how we communicate the impact of the work of the Health CenterEnsure all Health Center programs are medically accurate, culturally competent, and effectively implemented, aligning with SPFC’s mission and the needs identified in the Community Health Needs AssessmentMonitor and analyze healthcare trends and developments to ensure that our organization remains up to date with industry standardsOversee creation of referral network for patient needs beyond the scope of services offeredSupport the Grants / Impact and Development teams in providing content for proposals for health-related funding, participating in meetings as appropriate, and supporting the development of partnerships at the direction of and in collaboration with the CEO and Chief External Affairs OfficerParticipates in Board of Directors and committee meetings, as appropriate, providing critical input and supporting overall Board and committee directionAll other duties as assignedRequirements

Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; MD, DO, Autonomous APRN or DMD strongly preferred5 years in health care administration and / or direct healthcare with leadership responsibilities, with a proven track record of leading and implementing process and technological improvementsExperience using eClinical Works preferredDemonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on fostering collaboration and driving team performancePhysical Requirements
