Job Summary
The Customer Service Representative - Accounting plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and providing essential support to the Financial Services Department. Responsibilities include overseeing accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with state and county policies, and managing various financial transactions.
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, posting transactions, and reconciling accounts.
- Performing accounting tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Processing accounts payable invoices, verifying pricing, and reviewing coding for accuracy.
- Reviewing and reconciling invoices from contractors and suppliers, and setting up payment systems.
- Printing checks and producing electronic funds transfer (EFT) files.
- Preparing and mailing monthly billings, and compiling accounts receivable reports for review.
- Posting journal entries and facilitating fund transfers between accounts.
- Handling daily deposits, performing bank reconciliations, and reconciling balances.
- Accurately recording transactions and balancing payments to daily reports.
- Converting purchase order requisitions, ensuring compliance with county / state bids and purchasing cooperatives, verifying pricing, and reviewing coding for accuracy.
- Performing clerical duties such as filing, monitoring inventory, and assisting co-workers.
- Processing mail transactions.
- Assisting customers in person, by telephone, and email, addressing and resolving concerns related to County services.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end close of books and records.
- Performing all duties safely and efficiently.
- Adapting to changing conditions including workload surges and varying workflows.
- Collaborating with CFO, Controller, Accounting Manager, and Supervisor of Taxation & Revenue to ensure compliance with audit mandates.
- Maintaining professional behavior and delivering excellent customer service.
- Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
