Minimum Qualifications
1. Three (3) years of experience in the use of accounting principles, techniques theories; AND
2. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, or related field; OR
3. An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.
4. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Prepares monthly invoices for financial reports to local, state, and federal funding sources.
2. Reconciles county books with Grantor records.
3. Prepares journal entries to record adjustments to revenue, expenses and to post administrative costs
4. Assists in the preparation of resolutions, etc. for all incoming CSA grants.
5. Assists in the preparation and compilation of CSA budgets for Shelby County annual budget.
6. Maintains accounting records for all CSA grants.
7. Prepares annual Grant Activity Reports for all CSA grants.
8. Verifies budget availability to approve line-item expenditures.
9. Prepares periodic schedules for internal control.
10. Examines accounting documents to verify completeness and accuracy of computations.
11. Performs other related duties as required or directed.

1. Knowledge of accounting theory and practices and auditing procedures.
2. Knowledge of budgeting, fiscal management, and purchasing procedures.
3. Ability to prepare and maintain a system of detailed accounting records.
4. Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating decisions, situations, and preparing information.
5. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
6. Ability to work with co-workers and public citizens with courtesy and tact.
7. Ability to operate all office machines, MS Word, Excel, and Access.
