Position Summary
Works under limited supervision to perform advanced professional accounting work and related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
1. Three (3) years of experience in accounting; AND
2. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Public Business Administration or related field; OR
3. An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.
4. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintains accounting records involving technical data.
2. Assists with daily reconciliations of cash and credit card payments.
3. Assists with monthly reconciliations of financial reports.
4. Provides information for and assists with month-end and year-end closing.
5. Prepares and submits Journal entries for approval.
6. Assists with audits for various sections as directed.
7. Performs other related duties as required or directed.
KSA's
1. Thorough knowledge of accounting theory and practices and auditing procedures.
2. Ability to analyze and solve problems.
3. Knowledge of budgeting; fiscal management and purchasing procedures.
4. Knowledge of principles and methods of supervision.
5. Knowledge of the rules; regulations and contract requirements governing the agency's financial record-keeping operations and skills in applying them.
6. Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
7. Ability to use Microsoft Excel; Access and Word and ability to learn the County's computerized financial systems.
8. Ability to deal tactfully with the public and co-workers.
Special Requirements
Must be proficient in all MS Office applications (Excel Word PowerPoint and Access) with mandatory advanced Excel spreadsheet experience including creating macros pivot tables and using Vlookup etc.Disclaimer
