Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education
Minimum Qualifications
1. Four (4) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, or statistical work; AND
2. High school diploma or possess a GED; OR
3. Three (3) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, or statistical work; AND
4. One (1) year of college study (30 semester hours or 36 quarters).
5. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Performs administrative support duties by using word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications.
2. Monitors incoming and outgoing mail; initiates and/or transmits interoffice memos and notices.
3. Greets customers and answers questions by telephone or in-person concerning departmental policies, procedures, and work functions.
4. Receives, reviews and processes records, reports, and other various documents as required for accuracy and/or conformance with established policies and procedures.
5. Obtains data from various sources to prepare and compile standard reports.
6. Relieves or assists other clerical employees in the assigned work area.
7. Assists with incoming lab results and reports of diseases from healthcare providers.
8. Assists the department with data entry in the Tennessee Immunization Information System (TennIIS) and Notifiable Electronic Diseases Surveillance System NEDESS.
9. Participates in immunization’s community outreach and vaccination events.
10. Performs other related duties as required or directed.

1. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment; skilled at operating office equipment.
2. Ability to plan, organize, and maintain an even workflow.
3. Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively, verbally and in writing.
4. Ability to maintain patient, team member, and employer confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
5. Ability to maintain professionalism and communicate with the public, co-workers, and supervisors.
6. Proficient administrative and organizational skills and high attention to detail.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and other County software applications.
Special Requirements
1. Must possess a valid Tennessee driver's license by the date of employment.
2. Must have daily access to an operable automobile and meet Shelby County requirements for automobile insurance upon the date of employment.
3. May be required to work on weekends and/or after regular work hours for special events.
