Position Summary
Minimum Qualifications
1. Four (4) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, or statistical work; AND
2. High school diploma or possess a GED; OR
3. Three (3) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, or statistical work and one (1) year of college study (30 semester hours or 36 quarters) from an accredited college or university.
4. Experience working in a medical or clinical setting environment preferred.
5. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Performs data entry, and composes letters, memoranda, and reports for review and signature.
2. Communicates professionally with customers by answering questions, passing along relevant information, and addressing concerns.
3. Receives, reviews, and processes records, reports, and other various documents as required for accuracy and conformance with established policies and procedures.
4. Mails or personally delivers authorized documents or materials as required.
5. Obtains data from various sources to prepare and compile standard reports.
6. Relieves or assists other clerical employees in the assigned work areas.
7. Collaborates with internal and external colleagues frequently regarding assigned tasks.
8. Assists Pollution Control support staff with the preparation of requisitions and print orders.
9. Prepares travel arrangements for meetings and training for all Major Sources Branch’s personnel.
10. Maintains adequate office supplies and equipment.
11. Performs other related duties as required or directed.

1. Knowledge of business English and Math.
2. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment; skilled in operating office equipment.
3. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
4. Ability to process and proofread documents, including correspondences and reports.
5. Ability to deal professionally with the public, management, and co-workers and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
6. Ability to learn and gain knowledge of environmental laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations affecting the record-keeping operations of the department and skill in applying them.
7. Ability to learn and gain knowledge of technical terminology in air pollution and related environmental fields.
8. Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, effectively, verbally and in writing.
9. Ability to resolve problematic situations.
10. Ability to perform accurate arithmetical computations as well as correct grammar usage.
11. Ability to be self-directed and reliable with minimal direct oversight and attention to detail.
12. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and other County software applications.
