What are the responsibilities and job description for the Computer Systems Analyst (Juvenile Court) position at Shelby County Government?
Position Summary
Works under limited supervision to be responsible for the formulation of support procedures for business, data processing and technical problems and devises procedures for solutions through business and information technology systems related to the functioning of the Juvenile Court. Works at the highest level of all technical phases of systems analysis. May direct the work of junior personnel. Will also provide both hardware and business solution support as needed by the Court.
Pay Grade: 54
Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Five (5) years of experience in Business Systems/Information Technology, of which three (3) years are in systems/program support in a large-scale computer system environment; AND
2. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer technology, business technology systems, or closely related field; OR
3. Three (3) years of experience in Business Systems/Information Technology; and a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information
technology, computer engineering, or related field; OR
4. An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.
5. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Prepares logical statements of business problems and devises procedures for solutions through hardware/software technology and/or court/case management processing systems.
2. Gives direction and guidance to other Systems Analysts and junior personnel.
3. Works with users and leadership to define problems and the goals to be achieved.
4. Ensures documentation standards are maintained and developed for assigned projects.
5. Evaluates information system products and suggest specific purchases of software and hardware.
6. Participates in hardware/software search, evaluation, and recommendation.
7. Reviews purchased hardware and software maintenance requisitions for renewal.
8. Directs team in software/hardware product installations, configuration, maintenance and support.
9. Develops policies, standards, and procedures for use/installation of current/new software products.
10. Prepares charts, tables, and diagrams to assist in analyzing problems.
11. Serves as project coordinator of specific assigned projects.
12. Devises logical procedures to solve problems within the capacity and limitations of equipment, operating time, and form of desired results.
13. Assists junior IT staff with software/hardware support assignments, education, and system knowledge.
14. Performs other related duties as required or directed
KSA's
1. Knowledge of how to apply and support software and hardware to meet the operational needs of the Juvenile Court.
2. Knowledge of systems and solutions related to court management, including Audio/Visual communications equipment, PC hardware support and printer support.
3. Ability to solve problems related to court and computer management systems.
4. Ability to communicate orally and in writing technical and non-technical information for users and management.
5. Skills in one or more computer systems support tools (e.g. PowerShell, .NET or JAVA).
6. Knowledge of large-scale computer operating systems and business technology solutions. (e.g. Microsoft Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Power Platform).
7. Knowledge of skills for the creation of operational documentation of technology/business systems.
