Position Summary
Perform complex and detailed administrative tasks for assigned courtrooms and departments under direct supervision.
Pay Grade: 42
Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education
Minimum Qualifications
1. Three (3) years of experience in appropriate clerical bookkeeping, data processing or statistical work, with one (1) year as a Deputy Court Clerk with the Juvenile Court Clerk's Office; AND
2. High school diploma or possess a GED; OR
3. Two (2) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing or statistical work; and one (1) year of college study (30 semester hours or 36 quarters) from an accredited college or university; OR
4. An equivalent combination of related education and /or experience.
5. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Prepares and maintains daily docket or calendar of cases to be called in assigned courtroom.
2. Organizes, routes and files court case folders and posts.
3. Secures information for judges, attorneys and litigants. Informs parties of scheduled court appearances.
4. Provides information to various state and county offices as required.
5. Processes various types of legal documents for the courts and the public.
6. Scans and files legal documents received by the court.
7. Performs data entry. Records case dispositions and court orders.
8. Serves as primary contact for coordinating, collecting and processing court fees.
9. Performs other related duties as required or directed.
KSAs
1. Knowledge of the various legal instruments issued by the court.
2. Ability to maintain an established system of records and files.
3. Ability to work with court officials.
4. Ability to use a personal computer
5. Ability to write legibly on legal documents and court files.
6. Good communication skills and organizational skills.
7. Ability to perform accurate arithmetical computations.
Special Requirements
1. May be required to work evenings holidays and weekends on a rotational basis.
2. May be required to work in a 24 – hour office.
