Position Summary
Responsible for the Probate Court Clerk’s courtroom activities, mental health case activities and serves as primary agent for passport acceptance agency.Minimum Qualifications
1. Four (4) years of experience performing appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing or statistical duties; AND
2. High school diploma or possess GED.
3.PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provides courtroom support for Probate Court Mental Health proceedings in all court divisions.
2. Record case dispositions, court orders, and arrangements for payments of court fees.
3. Prepares a docket or calendar of cases to be called for Probate Court Mental Health proceedings.
4. Prepares routes and maintains files of court case folders and posts.
5. Serves as a primary agent for passport acceptance agency.
6. Examine legal documents submitted to the court for adherence to court or law procedures.
7. Prepares court cases folders and posts, files, and routes documents.
8. Explain procedures or forms to the requested parties.
9. Secures information for judges, contacts witnesses, attorneys, and litigants to obtain information for court and instruct parties when to appear in court.
10. Provides information for various state and County offices as required.
11. Administers oaths to witnesses, attorneys, and litigants.
12. Record minutes of court proceedings and prepare the same.
13. Enters decisions, continuances, and various court information electronically; edits and deletes same as required.
14. Reviews work of deputy court clerks in the absence of a supervisor.
15. Performs other related duties as required or directed.
