Performance Responsibilities
- Structures a physical classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Establishes efficient classroom management procedures.
- Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior necessary for a positive teaching/learning atmosphere.
- Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation.
- Selects and provides a variety of planned learning experiences using a variety of media and methods in order to motivate students and best utilize available time for instruction.
- Evaluates and records various aspects of students’ progress and reports to parents as needed and required.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct due process records as required by law.
- Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students resolve learning problems.
- Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
- Attends and participates in faculty and other staff meetings.
- Accepts a share of responsibility for co-curricular activities assigned.
- Maintains professional competence through workshops, seminars, conferences, in-service, and/or advanced course work.
- Adheres to professional code of ethics as established by Education Professional Standards Board.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or the Director of Special Education.
