JOB DESCRIPTION
Shelby Eastern Schools is hiring for the position of Student Success Specialist to support the new SES Virtual Learning Academy. This position is a full time hourly support staff position. It includes Health Benefits and PERF. The position is 184 days annually. This is a pilot program and the position is not guaranteed beyond the 2025-26 school year.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support students and families with initial registration and integration into the SES VLA platform.
• Progress monitoring and support for all students enrolled in the SES VLA.
• Communicate with students and families weekly.
• Communicate with counselors and building principals on the progress of students.
• Enter quarterly grades and attendance into PowerSchool for Virtual Students.
• Meet with new and current SES VLA students as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Technology use as a strength, ability to learn web based student learning platform
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to plan and organize
• Other qualifications that the superintendent may require
