The Charter Township of Shelby Parks, Recreation, & Maintenance Department is now accepting applications for part-time / seasonal Activity Center Attendant. Interested applicants must be at least 18 years old, available to work approximately 15-25 hours a week, mostly weekends from 8 : 30 am to 9 pm. and some weekdays Monday-Friday from 4 : 30 pm to 10 : 00 pm.
The hourly wage for this position is $14.66 per hour, no benefits.
Some of the job duties associated with this classification would include, but would not be limited to :
- Interact with patrons of the Activities Center
- Coordinate sports equipment and set-up of equipment
- Distributing trophies and sports equipment
- Be knowledgeable of Parks and Recreation offering and the layout of the Activities Center. Provide assistance to patrons when necessary
- Sales of concession items
- Handle monies and accept payment from drop-in registrations and class registrations
- Use Recreation software to process registrations and drop-ins
- Work effectively with other staff, volunteers and participants of activities
- Maintain order and enforce rules and regulations
- Prepare accurate reports
- Assist in overseeing recreational activities
- Assists in the operation of leagues, tournaments and the daily programmed activities
- Keeps recreation facilities in a clean and orderly condition
- Gives information to the public regarding recreation facilities and programs
- Setting up program activities and serving as an on-site assistant
- Ensure rooms are set up appropriately by arranging tables and chairs
- Locking and securing buildings as necessary
