Job Summary:
We are seeking a part-time/seasonal Recreation Assistant to join our team at the Activities Center. The ideal candidate will be available to work approximately 15-25 hours a week, mostly weekends from 8:30 am to 9 pm and some weekdays Monday-Friday from 4:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
About the Role:
As a Recreation Assistant, you will interact with patrons of the Activities Center, coordinate sports equipment and set-up of equipment, distribute trophies and sports equipment, and be knowledgeable of Parks and Recreation offerings and the layout of the Activities Center. You will provide assistance to patrons when necessary, sell concession items, handle monies and accept payment from drop-in registrations and class registrations, and use Recreation software to process registrations and drop-ins.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interact with patrons of the Activities Center
• Coordinate sports equipment and set-up of equipment
• Distribute trophies and sports equipment
• Be knowledgeable of Parks and Recreation offerings and the layout of the Activities Center
• Provide assistance to patrons when necessary
• Sell concession items
• Handle monies and accept payment from drop-in registrations and class registrations
• Use Recreation software to process registrations and drop-ins
• Work effectively with other staff, volunteers and participants of activities
• Maintain order and enforce rules and regulations
• Prepare accurate reports
• Assist in overseeing recreational activities
• Assist in the operation of leagues, tournaments and the daily programmed activities
• Keep recreation facilities in a clean and orderly condition
• Give information to the public regarding recreation facilities and programs
• Set up program activities and serve as an on-site assistant
• Ensure rooms are set up appropriately by arranging tables and chairs
• Locking and securing buildings as necessary

• Must be at least 18 years old
