Position Overview:
The Shift Supervisor reports to the Production Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the battery pack production lines, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in battery pack manufacturing processes and will be skilled in managing teams, optimizing workflows, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee production operators to execute battery pack mass production tasks in line with processing designs and manufacturing requirements.
- Allocate departmental tasks, arrange personnel schedules, and review results to ensure production goals are achieved.
- Conduct performance evaluations for department employees and establish and improve departmental workflows and policies.
- With management, identify training programs for department personnel to enhance skills and productivity.
- With management, lead and implement team-building initiatives to foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, SOPs, and 5S standards on the production floor.
- Identify areas for process improvement and propose solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth production operations.
- Address and resolve production line abnormalities in a timely manner.
- Complete other tasks assigned by upper management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Willingness to work with low-voltage or high-voltage electrical systems; relevant experience is a plus.
- Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in battery module (SPB) or battery pack manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of SPB and/or battery pack manufacturing processes, including safety risks and mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in battery module and battery pack process principles, assembly materials, and component technologies.
- Familiarity with validation experiments, verification processes, and relevant standards for battery modules and packs.
- Knowledge of management systems such as ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, and TS16949.
- Experience with 6S management, visual management, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Just-in-Time (JIT), PDCA cycle, 4M1E (Man, Machine, Material, Method, Environment), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
