ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processes employment applications for all certified and non-certified staff and creates personnel files
- Maintains confidential personnel files for new, existing and past employees: criminal history checks, current licensing, transcripts, disciplinary actions, praxis scores, application, Expanded Child Protection Index (ECPI), Reduction of Force (RIF), and reference forms, sex offender registry search, personnel employment documents
- Responsible for five-year rotation on all expanded criminal history checks and Expanded Child Protection Index (ECPI) checks
- Distributes all annual Reasonable Assurance Letters for non-certified staff, ensures return of letters, and file in personnel files
- Maintains certified staff statue and communicates with staff regarding upcoming license expirations and communicates with corporation nurse for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification training
- Meets with all new employees to review payroll paperwork, ensure accurate completion of paperwork, and discuss benefits with eligible employees
- Responsible for entering all new employee information in the State Department of Children Services (DCS) website in order to create the mandated Expanded Child Protection Index (ECPI) check
- Enters all eligible employees into the online insurance system
- Maintains employee training website by activating new employees.
- Completes the E-Verification process
- Tracks Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) to ensure proper completion of paperwork, board approval and medical release if required
- Assists with worker's compensation claims
- Assists payroll specialist during peak seasons; such as start of school year payroll, after increase in salary payroll, and in applying new plan year deductions into the payroll system
- Maintains and updates Human Resource webpage as needed
- Assists Business Manager with benefit management, Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance, benefits inquires, and open enrollment
- Reconciles insurance self-bill monthly
- Fills in for the front office when necessary
- Ensures that the Business Office delivers excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Increases knowledge by attending Indiana Association of School Business Officers (IASBO) training and participate in IASBO Certification
- Maintains Public Official Surety Bond of $100K cost of bond paid by Corporation
- Maintains satisfactory attendance
- Complies with Corporation Bylaws, Policies and Employee Handbook
- Models Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives
- Performs other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Business Manager
