DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The general job duties of the Housekeeping Supervisor are to clean and maintain areas such as entry ways, common areas, and resident apartments, as assigned. Other duties as listed on the job description. The housekeeper will be responsible for ensuring work areas are clean each day of the week, except weekends. Must be able to work well without supervision, be detail oriented, and be able to work at a quick pace, all while still providing good work results, customer service, and time management. Completes housekeeping functions assigned by checklist. Cleans areas as assigned. Ensures that cleaning schedules are consistent and supplies are restocked. (supplies, cleaning and paper products). Uses high standards for cleanliness and universal precautions.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in cleaning and disinfecting. Proven history of managing people. Willingness to learn new techniques, cleaning methods and/or equipment. Ability to adapt to different situations and adjust work processes accordingly. Successful completion of pre-employment criminal background check and physical screen.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION: Must be able to adapt to frequently changing work parameters. Must be able to see, hear and smell or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Ability to hear verbal instructions and or feedback/conversations from supervisors, peers and customer Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision. Ability to read, write and understand the English language as well as comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one setting to the customer, supervisors and/or other employees of the organization. Primarily works inside with frequent kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting, sitting, walking, bending and lifting. Must be able to push, pull, move and or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 3 ½ feet and be able to push, pull, move and or carry such weight a minimum distance of 10 feet. May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents in emergency situations. Physical mobility that includes movement from place to place. Physical agility, that includes ability to maneuver body while in place. Dexterity of hands and fingers. Coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot. May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals. May be required to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends and other positions temporarily when necessary. Customer-oriented with friendly demeanor. Must be able to relate to and work with our residents, age 55 and older Reliable, team player that desires continuous self-improvement. Strong organizational skills. Exhibits high degree of integrity and honesty.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical stamina and mobility including the ability to stand, walk, push/pull cleaning equipment, use of hands/finger to handle or feel various objects, reach, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl. Ability to lift, push and pull various equipment and chemicals (25lbs) Ability to perform repetitive upper body motions such as sweeping, dusting, washing windows, mopping or vacuuming. Ability to verbally communicate with others.
