Job Title: Operations Manager
Reports To: GM
Summary: Management level position responsible for proper departmental functions and day to day operations of Shell Lumber.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Ensures proper functionality of Receiving and Shipping Departments.*
2. Greets customers and assists in customer pick ups.*
3. Inspects facility daily for cleanliness, maintenance issues, proper warehousing procedures and safety concerns.
4. Ensures inventory is shelved and placed in the appropriate places as quickly as possible.*
5. Ensures staffing needs are met.*
6. Coordinates Shell stock needs with Purchasing Department.*
7. Conducts daily audit of Shell Inventory spread sheet.*
8. Inspects vendor returns to ensure material is picked up in a timely manner.*
9. Responsible for ensuring closing procedures are executed.*
10. Ensures building entryways and gates are secure.*
11. Ensures that the security dogs have been releases once the gates are locked.*
12. Confirms that cash collected at the DC has been sent to Shell.*
13. Identifies and coordinates required repairs, improvements and projects with Shell personnel. Requests assistance from senior management as needed.*
14. Responsible for training of new hires on forklifts and saw.*
15. Ensures proper compliance with safety regulations.*
16. Oversees employee performance.*
17. Executes disciplinary action and merits as necessary.*
18. Fills in in areas where necessary.
19. Performs material transfer as from Shell to KLI as needed.
20. Performs any other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages up to two subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of up to eight employees in the Receiving and Shipping Departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises up to eight employees (non-supervisory). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, assisting as needed to complete facility requirements.

Language Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of inventory software and operating system.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
