SHELLBACK Semiconductor Technology is looking for a full-time Junior Buyer in support of our Coopersburg, PA manufacturing facility. This entry-level position will be partnered with more senior members of the Procurement Team for sourcing, procurement, and delivery monitoring activities with the expectation of developing their procurement skills to take on larger Procurement functions as part of their career path. Responsibilities
- Supports the procurement team in the purchasing of components, materials, parts, supplies, equipment and services in support of the manufacturing facility
- Performs follow up with suppliers on delivery timing in support of deadlines and manufacturing needs.
- Manages and updates system information to support reporting metrics
- Runs and organizes reports from ERP system to identify potential shortages or late ships
- Supports the investigation and follow up of material delays, and provides relevant information required to resolve these issues across other areas of the organization
- Supports processing of rejected material and initiate corrective actions with suppliers
- Supports troubleshooting for incoming delivery issues with suppliers
- Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in MS office suite (particularly Excel)
- Ability to work within ERP system
- Experience working in manufacturing and/or purchasing environments
- Ability to organize, prioritize work and multi-task to support executing activities in a fast-paced work environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in ERP/MRP ordering system preferred
- Associate’s OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in related field (minimum 1-2 years in manufacturing or purchasing capacity)
- Ability to read, understand and reference technical specifications or requirements a plus
