What are the responsibilities and job description for the Roof Inspector position at Shelley Construction?
Shelley Construction is seeking a highly motivated, results-driven individual to join our Sales Team as a Roof Inspector & Sales Representative. This role offers excellent career growth opportunities, with potential for promotions and pay increases. Experience in sales—especially door-to-door sales—is a plus.
As a Roof Inspector, your primary responsibilities will include identifying roofs with age or weather-related damage, advising homeowners on repair and replacement options, and generating sales through direct outreach. Compensation is commission-based, with payments issued upon the final payout for each job.
- Insurance restoration projects: Final payouts typically occur within 1 to 4 months, though new hires may qualify for early payment options.
- Retail projects: Payouts usually occur within a few weeks.
Once you establish a steady pipeline of projects, you can expect consistent income twice per month. Over time, as referrals increase, prospecting efforts will decrease. After completing the training period (2 weeks to 1 month), you’ll have the flexibility to manage your own schedule, with weekday afternoons/evenings and Saturdays being the most effective times for sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel throughout the valley in your personal vehicle to identify homes with weather-damaged or aging roofs, offering professional repair and replacement solutions. (Inspectors are responsible for their own vehicle, fuel, insurance, and workers' compensation or waiver.)
- Conduct roof inspections to assess damage severity and educate homeowners on potential insurance claims or retail pricing.
- Meet or exceed annual gross sales targets, with the goal of achieving them within six months, depending on experience and work ethic.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with homeowners, fostering trust and credibility.
- Present the benefits of roof repair or replacement and provide homeowners with detailed proposals.
- Work closely with internal teams to compile necessary documentation for insurance claims.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, leads, and customer interactions in the CRM system.
- Stay informed about industry trends and roofing products to enhance your expertise.
If you're a driven individual with a passion for sales and an interest in the roofing industry, we want to hear from you! Join Shelley Construction’s Sales Team and help homeowners navigate their roofing needs while earning competitive commissions and potential bonuses.
