We are seeking an accountant/bookkeeper/tax preparer to join our team. This position has variable hours based on business needs.
A successful accountant will:
- Enter required information. Reconcile bank statements. Make appropriate adjustments.
- Experience with payroll, sales tax.
- Interview clients to get a thorough picture of their situation.
- Proactively communicate with clients to gather missing pieces of information through letters, e-mail and telephone.
- Perform all work in compliance with the firm's policies and procedures.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality, personal and ethical standards.
- This job requires overtime during certain times of the year.
- Prepare tax returns
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent working experience in accounting.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- Detail oriented, highly accurate and able to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license.
- PTIN certification is a plus.
- QuickBooks knowledge is a plus.
