What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asphalt Paving Foreman position at Shelly & Sands?
COMPANY HISTORY:

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Experience in Paving Operations:
- Several years of experience (typically 5-7) in asphalt paving.
- Hands-on experience with paving machinery, techniques, and materials.
2. Leadership Skills:
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
- Experience supervising crew members and delegating tasks effectively.
3. Knowledge of Construction Practices:
- Familiarity with blueprints, job specifications, running yield, and project schedules.
- Understanding of safety regulations, DOT standards, and quality control processes.
4. Physical Ability:
- Capable of performing manual labor and working in outdoor environments for extended periods.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and withstand hot and cold weather conditions.
5. Driver’s License:
- A valid driver’s license. A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Certifications:
- Certifications in OSHA safety standards, First Aid/CPR, or other construction safety programs.
- Asphalt paving certifications or related technical training.
2. Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with GPS, grading equipment, and paving technology.
- Proficiency in using construction management software.
3. Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (some employers may prefer post-secondary education in construction management or a related field).
4. Strong Communication Skills:
- Ability to communicate with clients, engineers, and team members effectively.
Additional Requirements:
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
