POSITION SUMMARY:
The Facilitates Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining the buildings/facilities as instructed and under the direct supervision of the Building Maintenance Manager. All Sheltair facilities are maintained for cleanliness and cosmetics as well as the prevention and repaid of any mechanical failures, ensuring the safety and security of all customers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Facility Maintenance Technician will interact with base customers, vendors and/or contractors on a routine basis.
- Routinely assess facilities/hangars for required maintenance, cleanliness, safety, security and operational status on a daily basis.
- Conduct appropriate repairs at facilities/hangars, including but not limited to structural repairs to doors and sidings, hangar door wheels, tracks, door operators (hydraulic/electric), hangar flooring, hangar door motor repairs, repair of roof leaks, pavement/seal coating repairs, airplane apron inspections, plumbing, electrical (hangar interior and exterior lights), maintenance of equipment; landscaping, irrigation; painting, installation of tile floors.
- Maintain records, logs and files.
- Routine preventative maintenance to include filter changes, lubrication of bolts/chains, etc.
- Conduct periodic inspections and maintenance on all HVAC equipment.
- Perform custodial and maintenance duties to maintain the buildings and grounds in a clean, orderly, safe and aesthetically appeasing condition repairing issues which may arise.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Trade school certificates a plus in pertinent areas; i.e., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.
- 3 years’ experience in facilities maintenance and upkeep.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- General knowledge of costs for maintenance repair and related items
- The ability to read and understand building and floor plans (as-builts, drawings, and mechanical drawings).
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
- Knowledge of carpentry, drywall, painting and basic handyman tasks to include minor electrical work and minor plumbing.
- The ability to analyze, recognize and perform maintenance duties associated with tasks related to the job.
- The ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs., bend routinely and walk and stand throughout the day.
- The ability to work with construction material, dust and debris wearing appropriate PPE.
- Work outdoors and in inclement weather.
- The ability to work independently.
- Must be available for weekend and after hours on call coverage year round.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work in heights up to 40FT on ladders and or a lifts.
- Work in noise levels needing hearing protection.
