What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Services Director/Manager position at Shelter House, Inc.?
The Residential Services Manager is a position dedicated to providing quality services to victims of domestic violence and working with youth who have experienced violence within the setting of an emergency shelter, and overseeing the 24/7 crisis hotline.
- Accountable to the Executive Director for the oversight, management and supervision of the Residential Services department, including shelter and hotline services, in order to provide a holistic comprehensive program that includes advocacy and service management for victims and survivors
- Provide additional oversight of special projects and program initiatives
- Provide face-to-face crisis intervention, advocacy, service management, emotional support, outreach services and support services to victims
- Accountable for documenting and reporting information as required per agency policy
- Responsible for participating in and completing all required opportunities for continuing education

- Must carry out responsibilities in a fair and consistent manner
- Must represent the agency and themselves in a respectful, professional and non-judgmental manner in all dealings with participants, team members and community partners, to include appropriate dress and positive attitude
- Must work well with persons of varied sexual preference, racial, ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic backgrounds, and with individuals who are differently-abled
- Must maintain knowledge of community agencies and their services
- Must have ability to work independently with sound judgment, work in teams within a collaborative environment and possess strong communication (both verbal and written), organization, time management and computer skills
- Must be flexible with schedule; some weekend/evening work may be necessary and this position is backup for an on-call rotation
- Must be able to lift, carry and or move items up to 35 pounds
- Must be able to stand or walk for up to eight (8) hours
- Must have a current and valid Florida driver’s license, current automobile insurance and reliable vehicle are essential for this position as some travel may be required
This position requires:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher / Experience will be considered in lieu of education on a case by case basis.
- Minimum two (2) years of management and/or supervision experience
- Minimum three (3) years of experience working with victims, marginalized populations and/or trauma survivors in an advocate or comparable role
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $59,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
